Diverse phenomena including (but not limited to) fleeting movements in peripheral vision, memories and thoughts which surface (or resurface) unbidden and unwanted, anything that floats through perceptual space without warning (especially when barely sensed), failures of absence marking out the borders of various uncanny valleys and the aimlessly drifting occupants of any number of supposedly empty spaces...
